Painting Workshop For Youth

Painting Workshop For Youth
Afternoons daily from 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Monday March 16th - Friday March 20th, 2026
Ages 13 - 17 (Maximum of 10 students)
Teacher: Chris Canales
Course Description:
Looking for a March Break option that actually pulls your teen away from their screen—and into something creative, challenging, and genuinely cool?
This painting workshop was built for ages 13–17 who love art (or are ready to take it seriously).
Over the week, students will explore multiple painting mediums, starting with foundational watercolour techniques like wet-on-wet and masking, then moving into acrylics and oils. Along the way, they’ll strengthen drawing skills, learn colour theory, and work from still life, landscapes, and portrait studies—pushing past “rules” to create bold, expressive work.
Teens will experiment with palette knives, colour-blocking, and vibrant paint application, finishing the workshop with oil-paint portraiture focused on facial features and realistic skin tones. Every project is hands-on, skill-building, and designed to help students develop confidence and a personal style.
This is not busywork. It’s focused, studio-style learning—without pressure, grades, or screens. Just paint, problem-solving, and creative growth in a supportive environment with real instruction and individual feedback.
