Course Description:
This two-session portrait workshop is designed for students who want to strengthen their ability to draw the head from any angle, and sense of likeness without focusing on shading. Allowing the class to concentrate fully on how to understand and define the forms of the head solidly before rendering the with light and shadow.
The workshop emphasizes form, proportion, perspective and anatomy. By working from both demonstrations and from a live model, students will leave with practical tools and a deeper understanding of portrait drawing that can be applied to drawing the face in any medium.
As a follow up Chris Canales will be teaching a class dedicated solely to shading the face using charcoal!
